Spending a day with António Sá is a unique opportunity to visit truly special places and benefit from his expertise as a naturalist and professional photographer.

This region is one of the most authentic and untouched in Portugal, making it essential to balance visits with respect for its biodiversity and culture.

António Sá’s proposals vary according to the seasons and weather conditions and focus on the following themes:

Photography

If you have a special interest in photography, you couldn’t be in a better region or in better hands. The diverse landscapes, distinct seasonal changes, ethnographic aspects, heritage, and biodiversity provide endless opportunities and inspiration. You can also count on António Sá’s expert suggestions to make the most of your stay and take home stunning images.

Wildlife Observation

Thanks to the variety and quality of its habitats, the Montesinho Natural Park and the neighboring Serra da Nogueira are home to most of Portugal’s wild mammal species, including the Iberian wolf. This transitional climatic zone is also particularly interesting for birdwatching, whether observing large resident species such as the golden eagle and black vulture or migratory birds like the bee-eater and golden oriole. Discover the best spots to find them—our recommendations can make all the difference.

The Best of Each Season

Rivers, lakes, and pools for swimming in the August heat; the most scenic forests for autumn walks; where to make the most of fresh snowfall or enjoy a picnic in lush green meadows. We know the best activities and locations for each season because this is how we live. Centuries-old chestnut groves, oak and holm oak forests; a walk down to the old mill or up to the geodetic marker, offering views over the Serra da Nogueira and the Spanish mountains of Sanabria and Culebra; spotting roe deer tracks, wild boar wallows… and watching the passing herds.
