Tamera is one of the most important Eco Villages in the world. Established in southern Portugal in 1995, it has been developing significant work in the areas of community living, climate change adaptation, and solar cooking. Thisis a unique opportunity to see this work up close and experience how community life operates.

Tamera is a peace research community dedicated to sustainable living and social harmony. Since its founding in 1995, it has been working to create a deep connection between people, nature, and animals. With around 160 residents, Tamera is recognized for its innovative social structures and ecological solutions, such as large-scale reforestation and advanced water management systems. The community explores alternative economic models while offering educational programs to promote nonviolent cooperation and environmental regeneration.This visit departs from Lisbon, Almada, and Palmela/Azeitão once a month, includes lunch, and returns in the late afternoon, arriving back at the departure locations around 8 PM.
