Lousã Chist and Crafts

Day 1: Lousã and Schist Villages

Morning: Arrival in Lousã a village located at the foot of the Serra da Lousã, also known as the “Sintra of Coimbra” due to its bucolic surroundings and manor houses. The Serra da Lousã, with its highest point reaching 1205 meters, is part of the Montejunto-Estrela System. Guided walk to one of the schist villages with the support of a local association that carries out social and cultural projects. Traditional regional lunch served in the schist village.

Afternoon: Workshop to learn how to make traditional bread and discover other recipes and secrets of the region.

Evening: Dinner and Accommodation at a 4 star hotel in Lousã.

Day 2: Local Crafts

Morning: Visit to Local Artisans, Lunch in Lousã

Afternoon: Stop at CURA to explore the collection of popular music recorded by Tiago Pereira across the country and islands (the visit depends on availability and CURA’s schedule). If it is not avaiable visit to Penela, another village close to Lousã with some points of interest like the medieval castle.
